Gas springs are mostly used to counterbalance moving masse & Gas Shock Absorber is used to support moving mass while controlling the system’s motion. They can be defined as hydro-pneumatic, energy storage elements using Nitrogen gas and oil for providing compressible and damping (motion control) mediums. They can be configured to meet a wide range of requirements and they consists of a precision rod attached to a piston, moving within a sealed cylinder containing gas and oil. Their force is equal to the pressure differential between internal and external pressures. The force is expressed in Newtons and is vital to know the force at which it will work.
